Dr. William McGillivray, BSc. M.D. is the founder and director of the Whistler Laser & Skin Care Centre in Whistler BC, and co-founder of Pacific Dermaesthetics in Vancouver, BC.

Regarded as one of the most accomplished cosmetic physicians in Canada, Dr. McGillivray has extensive experience with injectables as well as laser rejuvenation treatments. Ongoing research has positioned him firmly at the forefront of many clinical laser developments. In addition to being one of the first doctors in Canada performing permanent laser hair reduction, Dr. McGillivray has been an early adopter of clinically proven technologies such as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), radiofrequency for skin tightening (Thermage), lasers for the treatment of acne and acne scarring and intense focused ultrasound for non-invasive fat reduction. Dr. McGillivray was the first doctor in Canada to perform fractional resurfacing (Fraxel Re:Store as well as the newer Fraxel Re:pair) and has personally performed the most Fraxel procedures in Canada. Additionally, Dr. McGillivray was the first Canadian physician appointed as a clinical preceptor (advanced physician educator) for the Fraxel procedure by Reliant, the maker of the Fraxel laser.

His philosophy is to provide a patient with a comprehensive analysis of their concerns and combine it with an artistic, meticulous approach using the best evidence-based technologies available. As a clinical preceptor for the maker of Botox Cosmetic, he has given instructional workshops for physicians on advanced Botox and filler techniques in addition to laser treatments such as advanced fractional resurfacing (Fraxel Re:Store and Re:Pair). A true leader in his field, Dr. McGillivray has lectured nationally and internationally to his peers on both individual types of treatments as well as combination treatments for optimal outcomes in non-surgical cosmetic rejuvenation. He is frequently featured in the media , whether it be TV, radio, or print for topics involving the latest in rejuvenation techniques. He is a fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery as well as a member of the British Columbia Medical Association and the Canadian Medical Association.
